As part of GDM?s Research team, the Intern works with each branch of operations to gain first-hand knowledge of what it takes to run a successful soybean breeding program. By partnering with our Nursery, Increase (Purification), Production, and Warehouse teams, our goal is for the Research Intern to develop a holistic understanding of our soybean breeding program while earning valuable work experience for the future.
By leveraging our global reach, GDM creates the highest yield varieties of soybeans for implementation by farmers around the world, so the ideal team member is open to working in a culturally diverse group and has a strong interest in field operations, is determined to complete tasks despite obstacles, & demonstrates consistent attention to detail. · Assist Field Team with establishing and maintaining high quality Soybean research plots.
· General farm labor, planting, staking plots, plot maintenance, plant sampling, and data collection.
· Planting, growing, and harvesting responsibilities, which will involve travelling to locations around the state and into neighboring states.
· Field scouting and maintenance to ensure the crops grow healthy, free of weeds, and pests.
· Assist with Warehouse duties as needed including cleaning and general upkeep. |
